1. Introduction

Artisan Apps (“Artisan Apps,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Royal Flush: Bathroom Reviews mobile application (the “App”), a crowd-sourced restroom discovery and rating platform. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share information when you download, install, or use the App.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.

This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through the App and does not apply to information collected through other websites, applications, or services operated by Artisan Apps or third parties.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following categories:

Account and Authentication Information

When you create an account or sign in through Google Sign-In, we may receive the following information from Google, limited to what Google provides as part of the standard authentication process:

Your Google account identifier

Your email address

Your name, as provided to Google

We do not access your Gmail content, Google Drive files, Google Photos, Google Calendar data, contacts, search history, or any other Google account information. We request only the information necessary to create and maintain your Royal Flush: Bathroom Reviews account.

Future versions of the App may support Apple Sign-In. If Apple Sign-In is added, this Privacy Policy will be updated to reflect any information received through that authentication method.

Anonymous internal user identifiers assigned by our systems

Restroom ratings and quality scores

Written reviews and comments

Amenity information and votes

Accessibility information

Graffiti ratings

Badge and achievement progress

Other restroom-related information you choose to submit

Usage and Technical Information

Usage and interaction data, including features accessed and actions taken within the App

Device information, including device type, operating system version, and hardware identifiers

Application version information

Crash reports, error logs, and other diagnostic information

Location Information

Approximate location, derived from network or device signals

Precise location, when you grant the App permission to access your device’s GPS or location services

3. Google Sign-In Information

Royal Flush: Bathroom Reviews uses Google Sign-In to allow users to create and access accounts. When you choose to sign in with Google, Google transmits to us only the information covered by the permissions you have granted and that our application has requested—typically your Google account identifier, email address, and name.

We do not receive, request, or store any other information from your Google account, including but not limited to Gmail messages, Google Drive contents, Google Photos, Google Calendar entries, your contacts, your search history, or your location history from Google services.

Your use of Google Sign-In is also governed by Google’s own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review those documents to understand how Google handles your information.

4. Location Information

Location information is central to the Royal Flush: Bathroom Reviews experience. We use location data for the following purposes:

To identify and display restroom facilities near your current location

To verify that you are in reasonable proximity to a restroom facility before allowing you to submit a rating or review, helping ensure that submitted ratings reflect genuine visits

To detect and prevent fraudulent activity, including GPS spoofing, location falsification, and coordinated rating manipulation

To improve data quality and the overall accuracy of the platform

To improve App functionality and user experience

We may collect approximate or precise location information when permitted by your device settings and applicable operating system permissions. Disabling or restricting location permissions may limit certain features of the App.

Some features of the App, including the ability to view nearby restrooms and submit ratings, may not function correctly or at all if you have disabled location permissions for the App. You may manage location permissions at any time through your device’s operating system settings.

5. User Content

The App is designed to collect and display crowd-sourced information. When you submit ratings, reviews, comments, amenity information, accessibility details, graffiti ratings, or any other content through the App, that content becomes part of the Royal Flush: Bathroom Reviews platform and may be visible to other users of the App.

Your username may be displayed publicly alongside content you submit. You should not include personal information in usernames, reviews, comments, or other submissions that you do not wish to be publicly visible. Usernames may be modified, removed, restricted, or reassigned in accordance with our Terms of Service and moderation policies.

Content you submit is also subject to the license you grant to Artisan Apps under our Terms of Service. Please review the Terms of Service for a complete description of your rights and our rights with respect to user-submitted content.

Royal Flush: Bathroom Reviews does not currently permit users to upload photographs or other image files. We do not collect or store user-uploaded images.

6. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

To operate and provide the App and its features

To authenticate users and maintain account security

To verify restroom visits and maintain the integrity of ratings and reviews

To detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent submissions, GPS spoofing, rating manipulation, and other abuse

To enforce our Terms of Service and platform policies

To improve the quality, accuracy, and reliability of crowd-sourced restroom data

To analyze App performance, diagnose technical issues, and resolve errors

To develop new features, products, and services

To conduct internal research and analytics

To provide customer support

To comply with applicable legal obligations

7. Sharing of Information

Artisan Apps does not sell your personal information to third parties.

We may share information in the following circumstances:

Service Providers. We may share information with third-party companies and individuals that provide services on our behalf, such as cloud hosting, database services, analytics, crash reporting, and technical support. These service providers are permitted to use your information only as necessary to perform services for us and are required to maintain appropriate confidentiality and security measures.

Legal Compliance. We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, court order, subpoena, or other governmental or regulatory requirement; to protect the rights, property, or safety of Artisan Apps, our users, or others; or to enforce our Terms of Service.

Fraud and Abuse Prevention. We may share information with third parties when necessary to investigate or prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our platform policies.

Business Transfers. If Artisan Apps is involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, financing, reorganization, or similar transaction, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice of such a transfer and any resulting changes to this Privacy Policy as required by applicable law.

User-submitted content and usernames may be visible to other users of the App as described in Section 5.

8. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with or relies upon the following third-party services, each of which may collect or process information in connection with your use of the App:

Supabase. We use Supabase as a backend database and infrastructure provider. Information you submit through the App may be stored and processed using Supabase’s services.

OpenStreetMap. The App uses OpenStreetMap data to display map information and restroom locations. OpenStreetMap is an open-source mapping platform. Use of OpenStreetMap may be subject to OpenStreetMap’s own terms and policies.

Google Sign-In and Google Play Services. We use Google Sign-In for account authentication. On Android devices, Google Play Services may also collect information as part of standard platform operation. Your use of Google services is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.

Apple App Store Services. Future versions of the App may be distributed through the Apple App Store and may integrate Apple Sign-In. If so, use of those services will be subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Analytics Providers. We may use third-party analytics providers to help us understand how the App is used. These providers may collect usage and interaction data.

Crash Reporting Providers. We may use third-party crash reporting tools to collect diagnostic information when the App encounters errors or crashes.

Cloud Hosting Providers. We use cloud infrastructure providers to host and operate the App’s backend systems.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services with which the App integrates.

9. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, or as required by applicable law.

User-submitted content, including ratings, reviews, comments, and other restroom-related submissions, may be retained indefinitely as part of the crowd-sourced platform dataset, even after account deletion, unless you specifically request deletion of associated content.

Account information, including authentication records and profile data, is retained for as long as your account remains active and for a reasonable period thereafter to support account recovery, resolve disputes, and fulfill legal obligations.

Location verification records and fraud-prevention records may be retained as long as reasonably necessary for security, enforcement, and abuse-prevention purposes.

Moderation records related to policy enforcement may be retained for the period necessary to enforce our Terms of Service and prevent repeat violations.

Technical and diagnostic data, including crash reports and usage logs, may be retained for the period necessary to diagnose and resolve technical issues.

When information is no longer needed for any of these purposes and is not subject to a legal hold or retention obligation, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

10. Security

Artisan Apps uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect the information we collect against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include encrypted data transmission, access controls, and secure infrastructure practices.

However, no security system is impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for any activity that occurs under your account.

11. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed toward children under the age of thirteen (13), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use the App or submit any information through it.

If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information as promptly as reasonably practicable. If you believe we may have collected information from or about a child under 13, please contact us at the address below.

12. Your Rights and Choices

Account Deletion. You may request deletion of your account at any time through the App’s account settings or by contacting us directly. Following a deletion request, we will delete or de-identify your account information, subject to our data retention practices described in Section 9 and any applicable legal obligations.

Deletion of Personal Information. Where required by applicable law, you may request deletion of personal information we hold about you. We will respond to such requests as required by law and subject to reasonable verification of your identity.

Access to Your Information. You may request information regarding the personal data associated with your account. We will respond to such requests subject to reasonable verification of your identity and as required by applicable law.

Location Permissions. You may enable or disable location permissions for the App at any time through your device’s operating system settings. Disabling location permissions may limit the functionality of the App.

User Content. Certain content you submit, including ratings, reviews, and comments, may remain visible on the platform even after account deletion, as it forms part of the crowd-sourced dataset. If you wish to request removal of specific content, you may contact us. We reserve the right to retain, remove, anonymize, modify, or delete content in accordance with our Terms of Service and operational needs.

To exercise any of the rights described above, please contact us using the information provided in Section 15. We may require reasonable verification of your identity before processing certain requests.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will provide notice through the App, by email to the address associated with your account, or by updating the Effective Date at the top of this Privacy Policy. Your continued use of the App after any update to this Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we collect, use, and protect your information.

14. Additional Rights for Certain Users

Depending on where you reside, you may have additional rights under applicable state privacy laws. This section describes rights available to residents of California and Utah. Residents of other states may have similar rights under their applicable state laws, and we will respond to verifiable requests as required.

California Residents (California Consumer Privacy Act / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), may provide you with certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell; the right to delete personal information we hold about you, subject to certain exceptions; the right to correct inaccurate personal information; the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.

We do not sell personal information and do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than those permitted under the CPRA without offering a right to limit such use.

We will verify your identity before processing your request and will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. You may also designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf.

Utah Residents (Utah Consumer Privacy Act)

If you are a Utah resident, the Utah Consumer Privacy Act (UCPA) may provide you with certain rights regarding your personal data, including the right to confirm whether we process your personal data, the right to access your personal data, the right to delete personal data you provided to us, the right to obtain a copy of your personal data in a portable format, and the right to opt out of the processing of your personal data for purposes of targeted advertising or the sale of personal data.

We do not sell personal data and do not process personal data for targeted advertising. To submit a request under the UCPA, please contact us using the information in Section 15.

Residents of other states with applicable privacy laws may submit requests to us directly and we will respond as required by law.
